Fun education is a good way to start new school year

I REFER to the letter “Why no lessons in first week of school?” (The Star, March 21; online at https://bit.ly/40hUawk).

I fully support the Education Ministry director-general’s recommendation to spend the first week of school on “fun education and simple project-based learning” to strengthen the relationship among teachers, students, parents and the community. This is currently lacking in our education system, and I am glad the DG is addressing it.
