ONE of the targets of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals is “clean water and sanitation for all” (Goal 6). Target 6.3 seeks to significantly reduce the proportion of untreated wastewater and substantially increase recycling and safe reuse globally by 2030.
Recycling sewage and industrial effluent into clean water has been long practised in some countries.
