Let’s go the way of the Dutch and Danes

I REFER to the StarLifestyle article “Going Dutch’ to improve air quality” (Sunday Star, Aug 28). According to the AFP article, an international team of researchers has calculated that if everyone cycled an average of 1.6km per day, some 414 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) – equivalent to Britain’s annual emissions – would not be released into the earth’s atmosphere.

(CO2 has proven to be a significant contributor to air pollution, taking a substantial role in the greenhouse effect.)
