IN a world where there is an assertive push to conflate the genders, I find the recent High Court decision ruling that the word “father” in the Second Schedule Part II, Section 1(b) of the Federal Constitution to mean “mother” disquieting.
Would this set a precedent for the word “father” and “mother” in legislation in this country to be used interchangeably?
