#JusticeForBella − Abusers must face the law

The heartbreaking news of the abuse of 13-year old Down Syndrome child Bella came as a shock to many netizens. Wanita MCA urges the authorities to investigate the case thoroughly, especially on the caretakers of the welfare home in Wangsa Maju and all relevant suspects to ensure Bella receives justice.

In addition to that, we hope that protection and care will also be given to the children during this tough period.

It is difficult to imagine how the perpetrators, as their caretakers, could do such dreadful things. In the photographs shared online, Bella’s injuries are clearly from multiple instances of abuse. In fact, some of them already have scars from before while others are new wounds.

Wanita MCA vows to follow the investigation closely and aid if necessary.

According to reports, Bella was transferred to this welfare home last year, and members of the community found out the abuse after suspicion arose when Bella was missing in a recent name list for the contagion cluster.

We urge the community to continue this spirit of looking out for each other. If anyone is aware of abuse, they should immediately contact the Talian Kasih hotline: 15999 or report the incident to the police for authorities to step in. We also wish that Bella will quickly recover from her injuries and find a new home with caring guardians to live a happier life again.
