Consider raising rate of increment

I REFER to the grievances of retirees whose monthly pension is below RM4,000. Currently, the annual increment rate for pensions is 2% across the board.

For retirees who receive less than RM4,000, this rate is too small compared to the soaring cost of living. Those with a pension of RM2,000 will only get between RM40 and RM80 a year for 15 years. Five kilograms of kembong now cost RM50! How can a pensioner receiving less than RM1,000 survive?
