READING the tributes from former students to their ex-teachers on Teachers’ Day, “Students pay tribute to mould-breaking educators” (StarEdu, Sunday Star, May 16), prompted me to reflect on the nature of the teaching profession these days.
The teachers mentioned in the tributes are some of the gems among the 450,000-strong educators who are all aspiring to fulfil the theme of this year’s Teachers’ Day celebration, “Learning for knowledge, shaping a new generation”.
