IN the 2021 Global Gender Gap Index, Malaysia fell eight places, ranking at 112th out of 156 countries. Malaysia did not fare any better among the 20 East Asian and Pacific countries, ranking at 16th.
The Global Gender Gap Index measures gender gap in four main areas – health, education, economics and politics.
