Open EIS training programmes to more providers

ACCORDING to the Employee Insurance Scheme (EIS), members who lost their jobs are entitled to attend training programmes under Socso-appointed training partners. Each member is allocated RM4, 000 to attend the training programme and has six months to use the money.

However, when retrenched members apply for the programme, there is zero feedback from the appointed training partners. Members are kept waiting in the dark and even Socso’s own EIS officers have no clue as to when the training would start. In some cases, months would pass by and training would still not be provided.
