THE debate on class streaming and assessment is an ongoing affair – and it doesn’t look like it will end in the near future. The importance and interconnectedness of these two issues can be judged by the number of articles devoted to them in recent days.

As there are two sides to a coin, there are two sides to these two issues. Based on the article “Current way just not good” in The Star (Nation, Jan 27; online at bit.ly/star_stream), teachers and parents are more in favour of class streaming than not.
