2018 has been an eventful year for Malaysians. The results of the May 9 general election were met with disbelief by certain quarters and euphoria by others. Malaysia Baru was the catchword pursuant to the elections, with the promise of a new era buttressed on good governance, intolerance for corruption, lower cost of living, transparency, meritocracy and equal opportunity.
