Good governance for non-profits

WE read with interest the Sunday StarSays on “New rules for non-profit organisations” on November 12. We cannot agree more that there has to be good governance, transparency and accountability not just in Government and business, but also in civil society, which refers to the wide array of not-for-profit (NPOs) and non-governmental organisations.

Most of us also expect and demand the same of all associations within the country, of which many of us citizens are members and stakeholders. This is especially so when these associations solicit funds from members and the public to set up and manage foundations.
