Beware the hidden counterfeit banknotes

At 9.07 am(0107 Malaysian tme), the local unit stood at 4.1740/1770 against the greenback from Wednesday's close of 4.1730/1760.

A FEW weeks ago, I had to submit an in-house cheque for RM17,200 at a local bank in Melaka. I received the amount in two bundles of hundred ringgit notes, one bundle for RM10,000 and the other for RM7,200.

The bank officer placed the notes in a counting machine that counted them but did not verify whether they were real or fake.
