I REFER to the article entitled “Seven-year-old wonder kid” by Gan Pei Ling (The Star Online, May 8). I strongly support the parents who encouraged their daughter who has autism to write and produce her book The Golden Parrot and the Magic Teapot at the age of seven.

Madhu Barghavi Vijaya­ku­mar, who was diagnosed with autism two years ago, is indeed an inspiration for families with autistic children. So is her mother Jegadeswari Krishnan who said: “Don’t mould your child.
