I WAS greatly disturbed to read “Superbugs on the rise” (The Star, Nov 17), which reported that one in four Streptococcus pneumonia patients are not responding to antibiotic treatment.
For the uninitiated, Streptococcus pneumoniae (the bacteria responsible for the infection) is the cause of the Pneumococcal Disease.
