It’s the education system, not the mindset

I REFER to Danial Akhtar Abd Halim’s letter “Students need to change mindset on English” (The Star, Nov 3).

Among others, the writer said “there is nothing wrong with the education system but there is definitely something wrong with the student’s mindset.” If there is nothing wrong with the education system, why do the education authorities keep changing and experimenting in hopes that English proficiency can be improved? Millions of ringgit have been poured in and yet the desired results are far from satisfactory where English proficiency is concerned.
