Merdeka 365 days a year

SO, Merdeka Day celebration is over. In the old days, before the Jalur Gemilang became available in a variety of sizes and materials, people used to wash and dry the delicate fabric of their national flags with reverence and store them away carefully, ready for the next Aug 31.

I’m not sure what you did with your Jalur Gemilang this year, or whether you even flew or displayed one at all. In any case, we will all be putting away our flags soon, won’t we?
