Sale restriction a good proposal

THE authorities should consider the suggestion by Samuel Yesuiah to restrict the sale of cigarettes as the various anti-smoking initiatives do not seem to have met the intended objectives, “Restrict the sale of cigarettes to certain outlets only” (The Star, May 13).

The sale of cigarettes should also be banned at places where smoking is prohibited, including petrol stations where smoking is banned more for safety reasons than for health.
