Help farmers fighting for survival

IT is sad to hear of the plight of farmers in Perak who are fighting for their survival, “Perak farmer group protests outside PM’s office”, (The Star, April 29).

They are striving to put food on our table and their efforts should be recognised. A scheme should have been devised to nurture, protect and encourage them. Elected leaders should have the interest of the rakyat at heart.
