Climate change – a concern for all


I WAS disturbed by the statement of Cargill CEO David MacLennan in his interview with CNN in New York a couple nights ago insinua­­­ting that deforestation is the main cause of climate change. Because of that, Cargill will reconsider buying crude palm oil (CPO) from defo­rested areas.

Cargill being one of the buyers of Sarawak CPO, such an attitude could derail Sarawak’s effort to eradicate rural poverty.
