I REFER to “Penalise only the errant card holders” (The Star, Nov 17). People use credit cards not only to get credit but also for the convenience of making cashless transactions.
I do not understand why banks do not publicise this, but I know for a fact that at least one bank offers a credit card linked to fixed deposit account pledged as security. The amount of credit one will receive will be equivalent to the amount one pledges. Interest continues to be paid on the fixed deposit.
