Act on social issues


FOR some reason or other, our society tends to ignore pressing social issues. Maybe many still think it is best swept under the carpet, while others consider it a taboo that cannot be discussed openly.

There are also some who adopt a complacent attitude and think it is a matter best left for the authorities to deal with as it does not affect them or their families. Only a few concerned citizens view it as a national issue which should be a cause of concern for all Malaysians and among them are those who express their views in this column.
