The Permatang Pauh by-election is a watershed not only for the Barisan, but also for ‘comeback kid’ Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Today, the voters of Permatang Pauh will decide Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s future. Having visited the constituency over the weekend, I observed a number of other themes – not all of which are negative for Umno and the Barisan – that have emerged from this by-election. These will shape the future of Malaysian politics.
