The Government recently pumped about RM600mil to transform four Malaysian universities into full-fledged research institutions. The THES-QS Top World University Rankings 2007, which was released on Friday, however, show that they still have a long way to go.  

HIS DISCOVERY of the Nipah virus in 1997 has given virologist Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Lam Sai Kit global recognition and multiple awards, including France’s Officier de l'Ordre National du Merite (National Order of Merit) last year.
