THE Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry should keep monitoring the business community to contain profiteering. This is one of the effective ways of combating inflation. 

The maximum fine should be imposed on traders who flout the law since this is the only language some of them understand. Otherwise, consumers will be the losers if there is lack of enforcement.
