I WAS shocked to read the statement by Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jamaluddin Jarjis that Malaysia may choose nuclear power as a future energy source, “Malaysia may go for nuke energy” (The Star, Aug 29).
Morally, nuclear power is bankrupt. Its historical origins lie not in power generation but in providing fuel for nuclear weapons of mass destruction.
