THE latest spur to Malaysia’s nascent biotechnology sector is in the nation’s flanks. These incentives range from tax breaks to institutional support, promising to give the sector a fillip. 

The National Biotechnology Policy is also a clearly defined and structured programme. It sports three phases from 2005 to 2020, and contains nine thrusts that include value-added applications in agriculture to global marketing strategies.
