Labour dangles election carrot

THE race for the 2005 general election in Britain has begun. Chancellor Gordon Brown fired the first volley when he unveiled what many see as an election budget bursting with goodies to entice voters. 

And what a bonanza for pensioners, low-income families and first-time housebuyers.
