Act quickly to prevent flooding

THERE were many instances of very bad flooding in Georgetown last year and the year before, especially during the rainy season.  

We were told the flood pumps had been installed and the floodgates would be opened in time and there were encouraging claims that with so much spent on the flood-mitigation project, flooding in Georgetown would be a thing of the past.
