Much of the resources of the United Nations Development Programme are channelled into strife-torn areas, but there is still much that the agency can offer in terms of ideas to Malaysia, reports IVY SOON who spoke to Dr Richard Leete, its head in Kuala Lumpur.

DR Richard Leete, who took over the helm of the regional United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) office late last year, is not an outsider in Malaysia. He was the adviser in human resources to the Economic Planning Unit here from 1985 to 1995, and has in-depth knowledge of Malaysia’s demography.
