Employ online system to fix MyKad application dates

THE caring ways of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi inspire me to put forward this suggestion to make it easier for the people to apply for MyKad.

I know of relatives and friends who have made at least two trips to queue for their application numbers, only to be told at 8am that the numbers for the day have all been taken up.

These people had to get up earlier than usual, prepare breakfast, send their children to school and get into queue at 7.10am.

How many more trips do these people have to make before they can accomplish their mission?

Malaysia prides itself with its Multimedia Super Corridor and today, we have online reservations for airline and bus tickets as well as seats for entertainment events.

The National Registration Department should implement a similar system for the public to request for a MyKad application date and the department can then meet their requests or offer alternative dates.
