Japan moves towards 'normalcy'

Finally, Japan has taken the first step to becoming a “normal state.”  

The plenary session of the House of Councillors on Friday passed three contingency bills into law, including one specifying the steps the government should take in the event of armed foreign attacks on Japan. The new laws will allow the government to take certain measures in the event of emergencies and lay out procedures defining the activities of the Self-Defence Forces.
