A NEW Cabinet committee on competitiveness is to be set in motion soon. Announcing this on Thursday was the committee’s designated chairman, a busy Acting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who is concurrently Acting Finance Minister.

The committee is what the country needs at its current stage of development. Malaysians are not slow to acknowledge the setbacks they face, but the clever part lies in devising effective means to overcome them.
