DECADES ago, one often came across the Indian kacang putih man walking down the street, with a small compartmentalised tray filled with different types of beans and nuts balanced on his head. He would fill a small cone made from recyled newspapers with the titbits. Most children in those days snacked on these nuts and seeds.
