LAST week, the whole country mourned the death of 27 firemen and three civilians who lost their lives battling a forest fire in southwest Sichuan province.
A memorial service was held for them, who were honoured as martyrs by the Emergency Management Ministry. The ministry’s website was switched to black and white to mourn the losses.
