The end of Auku alone will not revitalise higher education without changes to academic culture, promotion criteria and the way students understand their responsibilities.
OVER the years, many called for the abolition of the Universities and University Colleges Act (Auku). It was enacted in 1971 “to provide for the establishment, maintenance and administration of Universities and University Colleges and for other matters connected with it”.
