LONDON, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Two pilots were injured Wednesday in an incident involving a Royal Air Force (RAF) training aircraft in Wales, local police said.
North Wales Police said emergency services were at the scene in the Pencarnisiog area of Anglesey, an island off the northwestern coast of Wales.
The Hawk T2 aircraft had taken off from RAF Valley on Anglesey before crashing in the nearby Pencarnisiog area. North Wales Police said the two pilots had ejected and were being treated for what were believed to be minor injuries, with no reports of wider damage or injuries.
The RAF said that Hawk T1 and T2 operations had been temporarily suspended as a precaution while investigations into the incident were under way.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said a fire at the crash site had been brought under control. Ambulance and air ambulance crew also attended the scene, while Defence Secretary Wes Streeting said further details would be "provided in due course."
