BERLIN, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed in a knife attack at a supermarket in the northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein on Wednesday, German media reported.
Police said the suspected male attacker was seriously injured following the incident at a Lidl supermarket near the railway station in Ratzeburg, a town south of Luebeck.
Police said there was no danger to the public and did not immediately provide further details.
Local newspaper Luebecker Nachrichten reported that the victim was a woman and that the suspected attacker was taken to a hospital for treatment. The newspaper said the first emergency call was received at around 3:40 p.m. (1340 GMT) and about 20 customers were inside the supermarket at the time.
