MOSCOW, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and 16 others injured in a missile attack carried out by Ukrainian armed forces on Russia's Belgorod, regional acting governor Alexander Shuvaev said Sunday.
"According to the latest data, two people were killed and 16 were injured in tonight's missile strike on Belgorod," Shuvaev said.
Earlier Sunday, the acting governor said Ukrainian forces had carried out 138 attacks across the Belgorod region over the previous 24 hours, killing three civilians and injuring another 35.
During that period, the Ukrainian armed forces conducted six artillery and multiple-launch rocket system attacks and dropped explosive devices from drones on three occasions, Shuvaev said.
