JERUSALEM, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Israel's 12-month inflation rate fell to 1.6 percent at the end of June, the lowest level in more than five years, according to data released Wednesday by the country's Central Bureau of Statistics.
The rate stayed within the government's target range of 1 to 3 percent, declining from 1.9 percent at the end of May to its lowest since the end of May 2021, when it stood at 1.5 percent.
The consumer price index (CPI), a key indicator of inflation, remained flat month-to-month in June, compared with a 0.3 percent rise in June 2025, driving the annual decline.
In June this year, sharp price drops were recorded in fresh fruits and vegetables, clothing, vehicle fuel, charging and lubricants, and overseas travel, while increases were seen in domestic recreation, holidays and trips, milk and dairy products, meat, poultry and fish.
