U.S. stocks close lower


NEW YORK, July 7 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended lower on Tuesday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.25 percent to 52,925.15. The S&P 500 sank 0.45 percent to 7,503.85. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 1.16 percent to 25,818.69.

Six of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with energy and health leading the gainers by adding 3.03 percent and 1.55 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, industrials and technology led the laggards by going down 1.67 percent and 1.62 percent, respectively.
