Azerbaijani, Iranian FMs discuss regional tensions in phone call


BAKU, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone conversation Friday with his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, to discuss bilateral ties and the regional security situation, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.

Iran's recent peace initiatives and its efforts to end the ongoing regional conflict were among the issues Araghchi raised during the call.

The two ministers also stressed the importance of continued efforts to ensure stability and security across the region and to de-escalate tensions.
