Tajikistan's foreign trade rises 27.3 pct in first 2 months

DUSHANBE, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover reached 1.8 billion U.S. dollars in January-February 2026, up 27.3 percent year on year, according to data released Monday by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

The bank said exports rose 30.2 percent year on year, driven by increased shipments of mineral products. Imports grew 26.6 percent year on year, supported by robust domestic demand, particularly for investment-related goods.

Analysts noted that the expansion of foreign trade remains a key driver of Tajikistan's economic growth. The EDB projects that the country's economy will grow by 8.1 percent in 2026.
