Russia's mineral fertilizer exports to surpass 45 mln tonnes in 2025

MOSCOW, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Russia's exports of mineral fertilizers are expected to exceed 45 million tonnes in 2025, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade said Tuesday.

"Fertilizer exports topped 40 million tonnes in 2025, with the final figures still being refined; the indicator is expected to surpass 45 million tonnes," the ministry said.

"The main consumer countries of Russian products are Brazil and India," the ministry noted.

Overall fertilizer production in Russia rose by approximately 3 percent in 2025 to reach around 65 million tonnes, said the ministry, adding that exports have shown outpacing growth and remain a key driver of the sector.

In late August 2025, Russian Fertilizer Producers Association President Andrey Guryev said that Russia held an 18 percent share in the global fertilizer market. Since 2013, Russia's fertilizer exports have risen by 60 percent, hitting 42 million tonnes in 2024.
