BERLIN, Jan. 25 (Xinhua) -- Five people were injured after shots were fired in an apartment in central Berlin on Sunday, German media BILD reported.

German news agency dpa said the incident occurred at around 5 p.m. local time in the Tiergarten district of Berlin. BILD reported that five injured people were found in the apartment, and two were believed to have sustained life-threatening injuries.

Police reportedly arrested several suspects at the scene and further investigation is underway.
