Meloni urges Europe to talk to Russia, sees no swift return to G8

ROME, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Europe should reopen ‌dialogue with Russia, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Friday, adding that ‌it was far too soon to discuss welcoming Moscow back into the Group ‌of Eight leading nations.

Meloni said she agreed with French President Emmanuel Macron, who recently called for Europe to engage with Moscow as efforts continue to end the war in Ukraine.
