LISBON, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Portugal's exports to the United States fell by 50 million euros (about 58 million U.S. dollars) year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, reaching their lowest level since the second quarter of 2023, according to data released Wednesday by the National Institute of Statistics of Portugal (INE).

Quarter-on-quarter, exports to the United States declined by 13 million euros, a drop of 1 percent, extending the downward trend observed since the beginning of the year amid evolving U.S. tariff policy.

On the import side, Portugal's purchases from the United States decreased by 12 million euros year-on-year, a fall of 2 percent, and dropped by 57 million euros quarter-on-quarter, down 8.6 percent.

According to the institute, trade flows with the United States remain "marked by uncertainty linked to U.S. tariff policy," which continues to influence bilateral goods exchanges. (1 euro = 1.16 U.S. dollars)
