PARIS (Reuters) -France's Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot will host a call with European counterparts on Friday evening to discuss Ukraine, a French diplomatic source said.

The source said the call in the so-called Washington format would be held with foreign ministers from Germany, Poland, Britain, Finland, and Italy, as well as the European Union foreign policy chief.

The "Washington format" refers to a heads of state meeting held in the U.S. capital earlier this year that brought together leaders from those countries to discuss peace efforts for Ukraine.
