NEW YORK, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended lower on Thursday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 386.51 points, or 0.84 percent, to 45,752.26. The S&P 500 sank 103.4 points, or 1.56 percent, to 6,538.76. The Nasdaq Composite Index shed 486.18 points, or 2.15 percent, to close at 22,078.05.
Ten of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended lower, with technology and consumer discretionary leading the laggards by losing 2.66 percent and 1.73 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, consumer staples bucked the trend by rising 1.11 percent.
