Tunisia busts drug trafficking network, arrests 6

TUNIS, Dec. 18 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian security forces have dismantled a drug trafficking network active in the Grand Tunis area, Tunisia's largest metropolitan region, arresting six individuals, the Tunisian National Guard said Wednesday on its Facebook page.

The six arrested include two female members and a wanted person, it said, without mentioning the timing of the operation or the identities of the suspects.

During the operation, the security units also seized 330 narcotic pills and an undisclosed amount of money coming from illegal activities, it said.

The Tunisian government has taken a strong stance against drug trafficking, arresting hundreds of individuals involved in the crime during recent nationwide operations.
